Dirt isn't the same color as the one I mined.

So i was mining dirt on a planet, and when I went to place it, it was red. The dirt on the planet was brown so why is it red in my inventory? There is only one stack in there and it keeps adding the brown dirt to it so it's not like it's from another planet.

I tried deleting the existing stack of dirt and continued digging up more dirt, but that was red too. How do I change the color of dirt?

This is not a glitch to my knowlage as there are many forms of dirt and stone that when mined default to the normal version this has been this way since i started.

Those are not the same colours and they do not look as good as the original ones.
You would've known that if you ever tried it.
So, this is no viable substitute.

Sorry, but "builders" will need to suck it up. The 48934857 colors of dirt in inventory always was bad, specially now, when tabs are locked.

No, you should suck it up. At least there was a fix to your situation, you could throw the dirt away. We don't have any fix to ours currently.

I mine up some blue dirt and it turns brown and I pick it up, mine up some red dirt and it turns brown and I pick it up, all going into the same stacks. That's how cobble has always worked in the game and I assumed they just made the same change with dirt.

It would only make sense if the dirt was the same colour as the one on the planet you are on.
Right now this is really irritating and looks bad.

We have a handful of options when obtaining/placing these blocks and I wondered which you guys think you'd prefer.
Note, the engine is ALREADY capable of all of these things, so there's no development time involved. It's purely picking which to go with.

But nothing from it is here, because why not?

I don't see why they won't just make it so the dirt matches the biome you place it in. It's an easy compromise for everyone.

could live with that more then it all cluttering my inventory and needing a storebox to store all the dirt per biom, and yes I carry a few stocks of dirt just for emergency stair, wall or bridge is needed.

Why not just destroy it via the trashcan if it bothers you so much?

Right now their main priority is fixing launch issues.

After launch issues - they are planning on doing an AMA style feature request - To see what kind of new features the communiy wants to see for the next major content patch.

So for all the dirt lovers - you can make your case there on why and how the dirt system should be made at that point in time. Just follow the main games Twitter feed to know when it is going down.

I am aware that they have a lot to do right now and that this might take a while,
but why change something that we already voted on to be different?
