One of the shops sells fuel for pretty cheap.

You craft an oxygen supply pack at one of the crafting tables (can't remember which, too many of them IMO).

An EPP requires 6 tungsten and 10 glass. I was able to spend all my savings to purchase tungsten bars from the Colony, but there is no glass for sale that I can see anywhere; and there is no glass or sand on my starter world (there is no Tungsten either, which is why I had to pay out the butt to buy it).

How did you guys find Tungeten and glass without being able to go off-world?

i havent been able to find tungsten on the first planet, nor does ursa miner at the colony sell it. i was able to make glass at the furnace using sand that was gathered underground. can anyone confirm that tungsten is available on the first planet or do i have to beat the mining facility mission first?

There's no Tungsten on the starting planet.

You have to beat the mining facility. Then, with your ship in a better shape, you can travel to the other worlds in the starting star system (and find Tungsten on Forest or Desert planets).

The mining trader didn't sell Tungeten until I beat a certain mission, then it was available minervasden.

You found sand in the starter planet?? I'll keep looking, but man I've been deep!

You can go to other planets within the solar system without requiring fuel, as soon as you beat the miner mission to repair your ship's drive.

There should be at least a few planets in your starter system, and one of them will surely have sand, even if it's not on the surface.

Ah, I didn't realize I can go to other planets! I thought only the nearby moon. I will figure out how to do this, thanks.

Agh, I wish they had made it clear you can do this. I spent 3600 pixels to buy 6 bars of tungsten I though I needed from the outpost, and then once I found a desert planet I found 4 bars of tungsten in someone's dresser in the first town o_0

so after playing a long time i realized that tungsten does show up at ursa miner but only after you have discovered it for the first time. i was hoping to get level 2 armor before going to the mining facility but it looks like you have to complete that quest before you do any travel beyond the first planet. it was really confusing to me when i posted.
