Best early game food supply?
So I'm still very early into the game, don't even have 1 of the 20 required ores for the portal, just building my base and venturing out with my bow for some meat.

I would like to get a steady food supply going that doesn't require me to constantly get out and kill ♥♥♥♥. I have started to grow some wheat, but I cannot figure out how to produce bread from it?

What is your recommondation to get the food supply chain going?

[PS: Also, is it worth ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ around in the beginning, creating a base, house and everything? Or should I just go ahead and start digging deep for those items I need for the portal?]

I'm personally just cooking boiled rice and using canned food for now, I don't think it's worth settling in anywhere that early.

u cant really get into the culinary arts until a bit later, this is just a tutorial planet for basics

u dont even have to dig deep, just find the adventurer NPC, next to his/her camp there's an excavation going pretty deep, with lots of boxes scattered around, every 2nd box has a corefragment in it among other useful things, like upgrade modules and hunting spears(pretty much the best early game weapon) and other exploration items and crafting materials

you can get off from the first planet in 10-20 minutes without actually digging anything, open up the Outpost, do the first mission, if you're lucky u get some decent weapons and you can go to the neighboring moderate difficulty planet to start searching for tungsten ore for the next tier armor

Hunting spears can usually 1-2 shot most starting difficulty planet wildlife. Good chance of steaks dropping. Tides you over till you can start producing crops reliably. Failing that you can buy apples or canned food from the outpost. Once you have potatos and rice though it's super easy. Also. Invest in building a minifridge asap to preserve your food.

"best early food" uh actually. Gitting gud and loot-crazy with pixels and buying a few canned food cans is probably the best supply. Since they keep for long periods of time and restore a decent amount of hunger.

Alternatively. Find a gun or bow. I think Guns counts for hunting? bows do. and they just use energy instead of materials/pixels for food.
(I think a gun does, can't remember if previous betas said they do or not, but I got a few steaks while using one.. could've been luck of the drop)
