Wtf Avians

Ok I'm playing Starbound and I'm just traveling across space doing my normal thing. I go to a planet found on a radioactive star. As I'm exploring the planet I came across an Avian village that was somewhat friendly. They didn't seem to like my company but wouldn't kill me so that's nice. In the center of the village was a massive temple. I climbed to the top only to find Avians sacrificing their own people! I mean I know Avians did that weird religious stuff but I never thought I would actually see it happen in game. Has anyone else stumbled upon a live Avian sacrifice ritual?

These are actually pretty common; you find them in almost every (Stargazer) Avian village. This isn't even the worst thing they do in my opinion. I mean there's an Avian sarcophagus with a human in in it that screams when yo interact with it !

I was confused whether to stop the Avian from letting himself die but he seemed content with it so I just watched in disbelief lol. I asked around the server I was on to see if other players had seen it but no one had. I wish I recorded it or took a picture!

Wait, he actually jumped ? Because I haven't seen that happen before, I've only seen people that where standing there, but never someone that actually jumped themselves.

Yeah I saw him actually jump off and he said something as he jumped but I couldn't read it fast enough before he jumped.

i have seen this in pre 1.0

tried to same them by kiling the gaurds but....thye jumped

This could explain why I haven't seen it, I haven't played in 1.1 yet (I'm waiting for mods to update)

I never saw this, but i found a book written by an Avian who was chosen to the next sacrifice and he was very happy to meet their god.

Yeah I found that book too. Avians are really f***ked up. They're probably my least favorite race and if I could I would kill all of them on sight and make them extinct lol or at the very least make them endangered like the humans.

They are based on Egyptians and yeah that civilization is not all about happiness and joy. I am sure you noticed the theme of each races. That's what Avians do and apparently enjoy to do.

Avians are also heavingly based on Aztecs, and sacrificing people for the gods whas kinda their whoe shtick :P. Also there are a lot of Avians that don't believe in Kluex, even despise him. They're called the Grounded, Pirate ships and the wooden Avian villages are all part of this faction.

Hmm... Yup. I know I saw many Maya like ruins and the kind. I didn't really think about the pirate ships and villages but it makes sense. Thanks for the piece of avian lore. Kluex is twisted.

Takes one to find one. But no its just a joke. The more I research and find about the Avians, the more and more I dislike them.
