best place to find titanium
i've been searching for 40 hours for titanium. where is it?! all the worlds i've been to that say they have titanium just seem to have OP monsters that kill me when they touch me 3 times. i need titanium to upgrade my crafting tables and make better weapons/armor to help me survive against them. i feel like i've hit a wall i can't surmount in this game and it's getting frustrating. is titanium located in a certain layer on the worlds? is it found deeper? is it really rare? i see a bunch of discussions of people asking what to do after they've beat the game and i can't even upgrade my weapons workbench because i can't find a single piece of titanium on any of the 13 worlds i've explored so far. is there some trick to it? am i better off just cheating and spawning my own titanium using the /admin commands? is that how people get past the first few solar systems and start finding the better metals to keep progressing in this game?
without titanium, i'm stuck with the original crappy armor and weapons and these animals on these worlds are wrecking me left and right. within a few seconds of leaving my houses on these worlds, they find me and murder me-i'm spending almost as much time dying, respawning, and teleporting back down to the planet surface as i am actually playing the game.
if there's no way to increase my chances of finding titanium on these worlds, is there a way to lower the power of the monsters or decrease their spawn rate? i often am attacked by multiple enemies at the same time while spelunking in caves.

Do you have durasteel/tungsten gear?

Durasteel comes after titanium.

You can buy it from a shop in the ark if you complete a side quest first. I get mine from the farthest out planet (I don't remember it's name). The enemies aren't too bad there. I have found it just below the surface but only in very small deposits

Temperate Stars are the first and safest place where Titanium becomes available.

If you don't feel like mining you could simply go to a planet with a city and search the chests.

Or do the quests that open up the ore shop and buy Titanium.

Find regular ocean planet. Dig under the ocean and mine the titanium.

You can also go to a titanium tier planet, or higher if you already got the radiation EPP upgrade and create with deeds, mercent houses to buy armor I suppose.

thank you to all of you for your responses. i'll look up that side quest i have to do, cause i have 2-5K pixels. (any idea how much titanium costs?) i'd like to mine it rather than find it in chests or buy it and if it's in smaller deposits, i can understand it being harder to find. as for the ocean planets, i've been to 4 of them so far (all before i got my EPP) and had no luck finding any on the islands. i never thought to check under the ocean as i was scared i'd drown or fall through the bottom of the world. and those giant fish look terrifying. i've only found 2 temperate stars so far, but i'll recheck the planets around them with this new information. if all else fails, that ore shop mission sounds promising. again, thank you all for your advice.

Your really not going to find titanium on the surface islands. At best maybe a couple in crates, its mostly deep underground on ocean planets.

A lot of times Titanium will spawn on teh surface of a planet but digging is a good option. If you aren't seeing titanium at all; EVER!! then you may ahve a bugged game. A friend of mine had the exact same issue with titanium and durasteel. The ore was litterally invisible to them for some reason. Reinstalling didn't fix the issue, neither did doing a file check.
For some odd reason if she were to spray over the ore with her paint attachment it would suddenly show up for her. So save up some MM cores and get the paint upgrade and spray to your hearts content.

Also... are you using iron armor at all? You shouldn't be getting your ass handed too you on a titanium planet in the early stages of the game. Unless you're standing around like a goober just waiting for it. Unless you somehow manages to get the enviormental pack upgraded for radiation stars... just a thought.

Get the paint upgrade.

As soon as you beam down, wall yourself in. Make a base. Dig down and find a cave. Make a torch trail and wall off the branches you haven't explored yet. Look for those white ores with black specs. Don't forget to stop at the base often! Bring lots of salves, or bandages if you can get em. Ask a friend to help! Try these things on a forest planet. Hope this helps.

white ores with black specks. got it. thank you. and i'll try that paint technique. i had considered creating a new character to see if i had a bugged game, but haven't tried that yet.

to anna of mew, yes, i am using iron armor. and a shield. i have a bunch of salves and bandages, but when they do 29-33 damage with each hit, i don't stand much of a chance. they can hit me 3 times in approx. 6 seconds and that often kills me.

Tungsten is the armor tier your suppose to be wearing. But you don't have too, I almost never did since its the only armor tier in the game that requires a farm.

Remember you can block enemies in with dirt and stuff, and pure dig over use cave systems. At the core theres pretty much no enemies at all, only real danger is falling into the core.

You can also with deeds create merchants who sell yellow stims which make you glow and light up large areas automatically. You can even create them on your ship.

The ocean water can let you more safely dig straight down. If you have the spike ball tech you can climb back up through the straight down hole. Or place platforms or dirt up. You can also carry a teleporter to place when your deep underground to warp up and back down easily should you die or need more titanium.

I got tons of it from chests. Pagoda dungeons and underwater cities were full of it. Also other planets beyond gentle. It's actually the most common ore I've found besides copper. I never have to mine it.

thank you promise and dudebro. i've never seen an underwater city or pagoda dungeon, but i'll keep an eye out. i finally found a small deposit of titanium deep unerground on an ice world and was able to upgrade one of my crafting tables. i appreciate everyone's advice and info. you've all been an immense help.

Under water cities are a bit rare. You might need to explore the bottom of multi ocean planets to find one.
Taddy Mason Aug 31, 2016 @ 7:02pm
the ocean floors come before the core, right? not gonna lie, i honestly thought these ocean planets were mostly water with islands on top. just a massive amount of water with no bottom, just the core
