Frackin' Universe - Growing Crops Questions

Seems like Growing Tray stops to grow crops when I'm in another world (planet/ship).
So I suppose it requires me to be on the same planet and use Watcher.
Am I right about this?

Also, will the regular way, with a tilled soil be working, while I'm in another world?

Yeah, you have to be on planet and nearby(or using a watcher), for things to grow in the trays.
Always make sure to have water and fertilizer in them too.
Tilled should work somewhat, when off world, just make sure to have sprinklers.
Gardenbots 2.0 helps with crops, just remember to set up markers or they can wander off, lol.

Done that too, usually on an ocean planet so I can pop there for water also. Helps to have a small garden on the ship for some simple foods.

Extra question: Hydroponic Tubes act the same as Trays? I mean, they stop working when you leave?

Hydroponic tubes(including the avali style ones) act like tilled ground, but never need watered. Those are what I tend to use in the ship, or at a base that I plan to spend time at processing things.
