small ftl drive

can anyone tell me how to make a small ftl drive ,it is not in the machining table

in FU, you'll first need to research it. It's in the Engineering research tree, 2-3 nodes in on the ship/mech line (bottom right of that tree)

Once it's researched, it's on the machining table, under the "ship" tab. The icon looks like a ship if you squint. :)
