is there a "search" tool I can use to find a star?
I recently gifted this game to my cousin and he joined me, started in something frontier VI, and I am currently at Leela Swarm VII. how can I find his ship?

Getting in a party should be better. You will be able to teleport to each other as well as teleport to the other ship. If you don't know how to do it, you have to click under your portrait and add his name
Edit: Also you get a compass to show you brother's location if you are in the same instance

when hes online and in the same world/universe as you you can party him and you can visit eachothers ships or you can go the the same coords as him (can be found when in the pilot seat)

you can bookmark planets. There is a button on the navigation window to do so.
