Here's my question. Here I thought it would support the controller in the least. Do you think I should get a refund? *mostly because I'm setting inches away from a 55inch flat screen*. And, I have to look up at the screen sometimes to see every thing.
Personally, if you like the idea of the game at all, (especially it's mod support, *cough* Frackin Universe) I don't think it's worth refunding because I honestly do not see how well the game can be played with a controller, which is probably why the devs didn't bother. I know Terraria does it, but I haven't played the game since they put that in, so no idea how well it works out. It may not be the same story for Starbound. I did try a mobile version of Terraria with a controller meant for a tablet, and I still can't imagine playing it that way for hours at a time.
If you're only sitting that close to your screen because of the lack of native controller support, a better option would be to invest in a wireless keyboard and mouse. If you really insist on using a controller, I would give the two programs I mentioned a try, and test it with other games before wasting your 2 hour limit on Starbound.
