Mech energy
Can't find anything for this so I'll ask here. If a mech runs out of energy due to active (damage) or passive energy drain, is it removed from the game entirely or can it be deployed again? Wanting to know so I can figure out if I should plan ahead in terms of creating mech parts.

You can deploy it again with no limits

Cool, thanks.

As first reply said, you can just redeploy. However, when you run out of energy your mech explodes, causing enough damage to outright kill you except in extreme instances. I don't know if this causes inventory drop in survival difficulty, but if it does go back and get your stuff immediately as anomalies and ships despawn after a time, erasing their contents.

Drops on death are disabled in all space encounters (I looked in unpacked game assets for this).

Also, the mech only explodes if it's brought to 0 energy by damage or contact with lava. If it runs out of energy naturally, it simply gets beamed up to your ship without exploding.

what are those things that refuel the energy called though?
Rich Jun 17, 2017 @ 11:46am
The small cylinder sized objects that you put into electronics today called "Batteries"
Mellowdy Jun 17, 2017 @ 11:50am
-_- the things I'm talking about are not batteries, I already tried those.
Rich Jun 17, 2017 @ 11:53am
The batteries are the only ones that refill it, and that's only in space, nothing else can be used ingame yet
Mellowdy Jun 17, 2017 @ 11:58am
ok but why the mean reply that wasn't called for
Ashley Graves Jun 17, 2017 @ 11:59am
To be fair it was kinda in the mech tutorial quest.
Mellowdy Jun 17, 2017 @ 11:59am
where? I read what aggy said but I never saw him say anything about batteries
Mellowdy Jun 17, 2017 @ 12:00pm
and whether it was or not isn't a reason to reply so harshly
Ashley Graves Jun 17, 2017 @ 12:12pm
Well that escalated quickly.

There are larger battery like objects that if destoyed will grant a very large amount of energy
