How to get large amounts of ores.

I just got my space station just to find that I need tons of bars to make things, have I missed some really easy way to get bars or something because how am I meant to get most of the expansions for the station?

Dig down. The further down you dig, the more ore you find. Make a lot of torches, you'll need the light down there.

A lot of the ores required to upgrade stations are either obtained from raiding hostile ships or mining from asteroid belts. Just be careful as there's huge gaps between asteroids and you may need a hoverbike or a spear with rocket spear as the alt.

90% of space station resources are low-tier ores. Copper, silver, gold. Those may be found anywhere. Only planets-related ore is titanium. So, you can dig out Ocean, Savannah and Snow planets dry for all required ores at same time with using lantern instead of EPP. With top power Manipulator or good drills its not a big deal.
You can also take Dangerous planets, but those require EPP, so you'll need light sources.
And you dont need any of Extreme or Inconceivable since no titanium ore there. So good armor and weapons will terminate any treat like ez.

P.S. Other 10% is salvage, but you need it only for few sections, meh.

you can also buy bars from ursa miner, if i'm remembering right. that might be from a mod, though..

Its not a mod. But we wont talk about it since he wants large ammounts of ores. Urse is expensive af. So he wanna purchace even something cheap, like mech bay, it'll be 25 titanium bars, 40 gold bars and 20 silver. Not a big deal, right? Riiight, just 42000 pixels.

For copper, silver, gold, send your ship to a asteroid field (anywhere), deploy mech. I get around 500 of each mech mining in less then an hour. Because often times when you're mining one type you also get another. And threat level is very low if not non-existant.

In vanilla though, the only ore you'll find is gold, silver, iron, and copper, with the very rare diamond. If you use the all ores on asteroids mods, you'll get any non-race mod ore on asteroids (once found a large asteroid which was almost all diamond... whoo boy, duboons and teleporter cores galore!. To normally get tungsten and above he's still going to have to delve deep for lots of the good stuff. Another route, to get up to titanium would be to use Fluffy the Wise's https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=895898053&searchtext=resource+extracdtor mod. It needs some higher level bars to make, but normal mined rocks and stuff can end up being extracted into TONS of ore. Even wood extracts to coal, not that coal is hard to find. End result, to get anything durasteel or higher, you're going to have to dig, dig, dig.

"/admin" is your friend. Without even completely destroying the game.
Allows you to spawn X quantity of what you want and craft at free cost.
Check https://starbounditems.com/ for getting items IDs.
Typing the code again deactivate the admin privilege.
Oh and you don't deactivate achievements by playing with it or with mods.
