Modern Style, Solid Colored Blocks Anyone?
So, I've made this character right? I've been here and there, built some really high tech stuff, and now I just want a REAL home. Well, I'm tired of doing the castle, the eastern style, anything wood, and scifi lab stuff. I just want to make a cozy modern home, but for the life of me i can't find a block that is simply one solid color, you know like painted walls and etc.?

The only things I could find on this topic were some green screen wall, but that seems a little out of place, plus I want to avoid admin as much as possible. (Havn't used admin even once on this char.) Also, I've found some solid neon colored blocks, but I don't want my house to light up! >-<

Just a generic painted wall is all I ask. ;-;

Edit: Yes, I know of like panels and stuff, but that sticks out as a background wall, so no trimmed panels... although a solid panel color would also be nice for construction.

Solved: I Just Made the Block... 'Cause it ain't hard to do. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Ornate wall, made from ornate wood and 2 paper on the wooden workbench. From https://starbounder.org/Ornate_Wall
It's not solid color but it's subtle. Painted Brick., made from Bricks, and brown dye at the Wooden Workbench. From https://starbounder.org/Painted_Brick
Again it's patterned but it's subtle: Soft Brick. Made from Fired Clay and Loose silt at the Wooden Workbench. From https://starbounder.org/Soft_Brick
If you don't mind black, there's Black Glass. Made from Glass and Black dye at the Wooden Workbench. Despite it's name it isn't very transparent. From https://starbounder.org/Black_Glass

Those were all that I could find that either lack patterns, or have very subtle patterns (and Modern Housing can be made of brick. Alternately dig up snow (not slush) from cold planets and color it. It can be disguised as something other than Snow. Smooth Ice can be found in some cold areas, is slightly translucent and can be colored. That's all I could think of.

Good suggestion, however sadly I've already considered/tried those options. What I'm seeking is more of a mod here, I'm already fully aware of all the block in vanilla Starbound... I've got a pretty good count on my time played.

What I seek is a mod that may add in something to what I had in mind... honestly if nothing else, I could probably make the mod myself and then add it into the game.

Edit: Wow, clearly not as many hours as you though... if only i could be so grossly incandescent.

A lot of that time is spent on ship, with admin on, letting my crew stuff all the trash cans with soggy paper (Which is used by the blattra race to make garbage salad (1 soggy paper + 4 plant fibre = a salad just like your mother used to make). I turn admin off after I wake up in the morning and start playing again. So my hours are inflated cause all the time running admin (to keep from starving to death) and accumulating soggy paper.

I see, I've never actually played as the blattra race, however I do have them in my game just to add in a little more life in the universe. The race is genuinly a well devoped race that oddly enough FR doesn't has support for, although one of the species back on the science outpost I believe is a blattra. (That's how I even first came to know about the race in the first place.)

Ok, for the life of me, I can't recall nor find where this is. However, there is a mod THAT I SHOULD HAVE that allows you to craft/purchase some soggy paper. I know for a fact I've seen it somewhere, but I can't find it. I'll probably update this later if I do. >-<

EDIT: Nm, I was probably just thinking of the edible soggy paper... but that requires 10 soggy paper to make. o3o

It's no accident that Gaymonsterdad's Blatra race has no Frackin' support. Sayter and GMD have a lot of bad blood between them. But Sayter calling someone a pedophile just because he wants his IP removed from FU when he wasn't even asked if he wanted it included could do that...
Kenchi Feb 23, 2019 @ 2:27pm
Yeah, Sayter would appear to be getting a rep for that type of behavior I've noticed. (Especially with what happened recently.)

Honestly though, despite his... inappropriate actions regarding mods and permissions, I'll still pay my respect where it's due in stating that he has still played a huge part in the modding community. Plus, his mods are pretty damn good.

Not sure about a flat surface for material, but couldn't you use the paint tool to change colors of tiles? Not ever used it, but it is there. One of the MM functions.

The Hylotl ornate wall is just solid white. Could be useful to paint.

Actually, that is pretty much what I did. I used GIMP to modify the appearance of a block, (In this case I used the sloped glass mods) and then altered all the corresponding files to the original block to fit the new one I made... I also adjusted some values just so it made more since.

That normally would've worked if it didn't leave the wood trim on the sides of the block. Plus, now that I've got a better understanding of making blocks, I might make a few more, like sloped modern stone and etc. ^^
