Where are random creatures ?
Hey,

so I've stopped playing for a while.

I've to say they added many cool things, the macha, the spacebase etc...

but what about randomness ? one of the cool things at first was all these different creatures on every planets. Why always the same creatures now ?

The random ones are a bit more common underground, but they still exist.

There's a set of common creatures both above and below ground - all of which are listed in the collection and can be captured. Then there's a set of random ones (mostly near the surface). The giant fish under the mine on your starting world is always one of those random ones. If you've found a section of space where it's generating the exact same creatures across multiple worlds around multiple stars, that would be an interesting sight to see.
The prevalence of procedurally generated monsters was decreased when the unique monsters were implemented. I believe it's down to design reasons.

Thanks for the explanations. But there are quite a few creature i can find on most planets, for example the one which looks like a coconut and charges oO

I remember in the beggining, even the creatures who looked the same from one planet to another had at least colors changing

they are random. i have played starbound for years, and i started to notice a patteren: the rgm's appearance (randomly generated monsters) depends on what star sytem you are on. if you go to another star, you will see that the rgm's appearance looks different.

Do you remember at the very beggining, that you could go on 10 planets in a row and never see twice the same alien ? And being surprized when you could find the same animal on two different planets ? Sometimes it was just their colors changing but it did the job
