Poptop Capture Pods?

I'm really new to this game, so sorry if I'm being stupid. I wanted to know : If you use a capture pod on a poptop, will it play the little song while its out or it will it just walk around with you? Thanks in advance. If no one has an answer I can just test it out because I have a spare capture pod I just wanted to try and not waste it.

Just walk around with you. The music (which I can't hear, being deaf, but can see the notes above, so I know what's happening) disappears when the monster is "alert to danger", which it is as soon as it's in "pet" mode.

Okie dokie. Thank you! And playing starbound and not being able to hear anything seems so hard. I rely on hearing the little alert sound of creatures to know when I'm being attacked. So just wanted to say thats pretty impressive you can do that! But yes, thank you for the answer!

Actually, they do sing their little song when they're pets. If you're stationary, or they're on a tether, they'll sing it. It's only if they're following you while you're moving that they stop. Also, if you put it on a tether, put blocks around it to limit it's movement area, so that way it won't scurry back to the tether and stop playing its music

both. they sing songs when you are nearby and they dont need to run to get to you. if your far away, they give up on singing and run.
