Erchius Mining Facility / FTL Drive

Okay this is now the second time I have completed this quest on different characters, after defeating the Erchius Horror and getting the 20 crystals, Pete doesn't give me any indication of fixing the FTL Drive. I speak to him and after completing the quest, the little cutscene of him and the penguins doesn't appear and whenever I try to fly my ship, it just says that the FTL drive is not installed, so how exactly do I tackle this and actually use my ship? I bought fuel and even extracted the crystals to make fuel but it doesn't make a difference, I've went back to the mining facility but doesn't make a difference. This has now happened twice and I have followed the same procedure as other people on walkthroughs, what am I doing wrong?

Seems like you have Frackin' Universe installed (do tell me if I am wrong though). You have to create an FTL Drive in the Machining Table I think and place it somewhere on your ship. Those 20 Erchius crystals were for that.

First, as said above, we need to know if you have mods.
You probably have FU.

If you got FU without knowing what to do, I'm sure this mod is absolutely not for you
