How to respawn village npcs

I found a Floran village once. I found a floran being attacked by a killer bird. I dived in to heroically save their life and killed him and the bird at the same time! If there is no respawn thing please teach me how to make some sort of auto-turret so this never happens again!

There is no respawning of naturally occurring villages. But, you can put up the colony deeds to replace people. Colonists will respawn.

There are admin commands to spawn in villagers. This will work (in single player)
/admin
/spawnnpc floran villager
/admin

This will activate admin mode, spawn a random floran villager, then exit admin mode.

As for a turret, there are turrets you can build (they're pretty crappy) on the wire console. Build a bunch of them for effect. Pretty end-game content though.

How do you spawn guards?

spawn guards by putting in weapon chests, generally the higher level of items like beds chairs made of dursteel will spawn tougher guards.

villagers also sometimes give out missions to find a "lost friend" those can repopulate a village.

/spawnnpc <playerrace> friendlyguardtenant 4 (where <playerrace> = human, apex, floran, hylotl, avian, or novakid) and the 4 is to give gear of a particular tier (capped at 4).
