i can't upgrade weapons at a weapon upgrade anvil

The only thing I can think of that would cause this is if you are atempting to upgrade something other than the small list of special weapons that are compatible with the upgrade anvil.

The only other thing would be if you are using mods, they may be causing it to glitch.

Remember time zones. Not everyone here is in the same time zone you are. They might be asleep, or at work and therefore not even seeing your post. And the cyborg sith-feline may be correct (since you didn't tell us *which* weapon you were trying to upgrade. As a rule only "legendary" (purple border) weapons are upgradable. But some legendary weapons are already tier 6. And the upgrade only goes to tier 6. So any weapon other than a legendary weapon, or a legendary weapon that is already tier 6, will not be able to be upgraded on the anvil. So please tell us which weapon you're trying to upgrade.

I'm not sure the poison bow is upgradable. Let me check the wiki *checks Starbounder.org* Hmm dunno why. It *is* upgradable. Do you have enough essence?

it even shows up on the list on the upgrade anvil

i spawned in the maximum amount of essence its just when i select anything on the list the upgrade button is still grayed out

Hmm did you actually *click* the text entry that was the bow? So as to Select it. That display that lists the weapons is a list, and you have to click it. If *that* doesn't work, your player file might be slightly corrupted. Or (just had this thought) do you have a mod that updates the poison bow to be more effective? If so that would have changed the LUA and made the weapon unupgradable as it's now a different item than it was before. You might have to contact the mod's author and get that item added to the LUA of the upgrade anvil. Assuming of course that you even had a mod.

i dont have a mod i tried upgrading other things like the solus katana and it didnt work

Sounds like either your game files or your character is definately screwed up then. Try verifying game files from your steam library (while the game is closed). If that doesn't work... well it's time to delete the character and start a new one.

Edit: I just verified myself by spawning the items. Upgraded just fine. Solus Katana too. Something is *definately* either wrong with your game files or character file.
