/spawnitem parameters
I keep trying to spawn an item using the /spawnitem command, but everytime I use it, it only gives me a perfectly generic item. I looked it up to see if I needed to use parameters, but all I found were parameters for weapons. I guess I was wondering if it is even possible to use the command if I'm not playing on the unstable version, or if it's a bug where it only gives a perfectly generic item. I made sure I typed it correctly as well. Help?

What item are you trying to spawn in?

Upgrade things, like manipulator modules, tech cards, and upgrade modules

those dont seem like they should mess up when being spawned like that. are you using any mods? what exactly are you typing when trying to spawn them?

I'm not using any mods, and all I type is /spawnitem UpgradeModules. The upgrade modules I have tried with caps sensitive and space/underscore.

ah, there's the problem. it's "upgrademodule", lowercase (theoretically any case should work), no spaces, amount specified immediately after the ID (or not, if you only want one). item/block IDs arent pluralized in the game code, so it doesnt know what the item "upgrademodules" is and defaults to a perfectly generic object

Yeah, I tried that. It still does that for other items as well though.

Eh. It's okay.

All I can say is, here's the proper command and syntax:

/spawnitem upgrademodule 10

You can copy and paste it (use Ctrl+V in game). This will spawn 10 of them under the cursor. If that still produces only generic items, then I would guess it's a mod issue as well. However, that's a really odd issue, because mods don't normally make drastic changes to random vanilla items unless the description is really clear about it.

And I don't even have mods installed

Are you using a non-english or International keyboard? The pasting method should bypass that, though.

Honestly, I'm pretty stumped.

Verify game cache.

Reinstall.

I'm out of ideas.
