Any way to change character name?

Is it possible that a character's name can be changed? or can i the save file name be changed and carry over to the character?

You cannot change name unless with some precision editing in the save file. HOWEVER, you can transfer the ship of a character to another, you can copy the ship file and rename it in place of the one you want to replace.

file location is C:\program files(x86)\steam\steamapps\common\starbound\storage
i can't tell your ship file's name, because it has random name.
you can find it in game while using

/whereami

command
it can transfer objects,items that placed inside.
but you cannot transfer crew members
