cant remember vault code (bounty hunting)

I got to a part where I needed a code for a pinpad to arrest the criminal, which then took me to an enemy hideout where I shot a criminal who yelled out the password,and I didnt remember it, and in my quests it said the password was <password>.....is it supposed to do that? cause I dont think you can type "password" on a pinpad.

I got the same problem here. So I abandon it, do some more of the bounties found another one that actually works, where it gave the correct password instead of just <password>. Which in that case was 5555, all 4 digit are the same number.

Fast forward another quest where the clue just gave <password>. So i guess i should just try all the same number for the 4 digits, and it works.

So long story short just try the same digits for the keypad when the quest bug out. Hope this helps.
