then dont do it? just pick one of your games that are in there and play them normally or use your achievement points you may already have

If you are worried then don't do it.

there are 19,000 people in game right now... That's not normal for this game, Thousands of others are doing the same thing. If they banned everyone who did this there would be a lot of angry people. The worst thing that could happen is Valve resets the levels,

maybe some dont do it for the lvl but buying the games which are less than 5

I doubt they would reset levels because they need to detect every player in starbound but also players that are just playing for fun not doing the glitch will be caught on the crossfire.

There's literally a section of the Grand Prix for Starbound that specifically counts Soda drinks... they would just look at that and find out that someone drank 20,000 sodas in less than two hours.

I can see it potentially being an issue if you're using a $5 coupon for every single game you buy, but I seriously doubt Valve cares about badge levels/profile levels. There's no cash value there. Plus this exploit has been widely known about for a while now, and they clearly haven't made fixing it a priority. Should be a simple task to get rid of the 'drink a soda' goal or disable all goals when mods are installed.

but it is only needed if you have the capacity for that stuff

I doubt it. The max points you can get is dictated by how much you have spent on steam since the last sale. $1 = 100. I don't think they care how you "redeem" those points.

lul like 18k online earlier for Starbound. That's hilarious but nah, don't exploit. There's always some form of punishment for exploiting. Even getting your profile/level reset sucks.

It's not an exploit but a feature.
I mean alternatively you could buy some junk game with 10000+ achievments and get a ton of points that way.

To be honest, I'm more afraid that Starbound is at risk of being removed from steam, all thanks to a single mod. I've played this game since early access, all the way back in 2014, and I loved it for what it was back then and I still love it for what it is today, thanks to the Steam Workshop.

I'm afraid that the Steam Summer Sale will eventually destroy Starbound, I hope that it will survive after the event is over.

I don't think i twill.
Is it still working for anyone? I traded in one batch of points towards the badge and now I am not getting anymore points for drinking the soda... :( sad times...

If you only buy starbound, use the mod which is from the steam workshop, they cannot ban you. It was an oversight on their part to allow an easily modable game with no tracking built in for a vanilla experience. Just don't use it on the discount vouchers because that will cost them real money and they may go after people for that, but to use it for the badge points that should be fine and they can't ban for that.
