While Apex beign unpopular is not anything new,
space cowboys are a suprise for me since I've seen Florans mostly.

i like novakid, they are the most chill race (the only hostile novakids ingame are the jailed ones in novakid villages).
also, it's funny how other races talk to you, since novakids are rare in the game's canon (not that rare in-game though, especially on deserts and on stations)

I can't tell you the most and least played overall. But personally, my most played race is floran, because of a variety of reasons. They have a nice ship with a junker/scavenger feel, with a neat and usable layout of rooms. Their armor designs are generally good, with a few notable exceptions. And, because they have a tribal culture and that can mean a lot of variation between the values and traditions between each tribe, it's the one that I have the easiest time ignoring less desirable parts of their lore for, as most things (such as a floran hissssssing obnoxiousssssly and unrealissssstically on every sssssssingle sssss, or that the floran are always hyperviolent and near-fetishistic about stabbing things) can be dismissed as racial stereotyping from a more advanced species.

My least played race is a tie between novakid and apex, but apex are definitely my least favorite; they're literally just hairy humans living out 1984. There's no creativity in them. When the developers were planning racial foods, their foods were going to be grapes and bananas, both foods from Earth. There's just so much wrong with their lore that I consider them irredeemably uncreative. And their ship is practically a borg cube.
Novakid I just never played because other races are more interesting to me. I haven't been a fan of cowboys since I was very young, and the rest just doesn't interest me. Plus, I dislike their ship; it's just a train in space, nothing more, nothing less.

Most played would definitely be Novakid. They're just adorable! Every one of my characters is a novakid

Least played would be Hylotl. Stinky, nerdy fish people with three eyes. I'd MUCH sooner play a apex before I play a hylotl

Yea lol, i found more novakid villages than floran ones when doing mission thingy. (I assume i was lucky)
Getting their themed furniture is pain in the arse tho.

I always played as human, just bein' classic feels nice. But I found a mod that makes you a DRAGON. Who wouldn't want to be a dragon? c'mon.

Actually, it's a reskinned mode. They were originally human/dragon hybrids with fleshy bits and just didn't look too pleasing. So i found a reskin and now I'm happy.

i prefer human, though my crew is like 90% avian and one floran and novakid. i dont really like apex, especially since their trope is "mmm bananas" and its all theyre about. quite literally a banana dictatorship when you find one of their own towns. id rather have novakid have a relic over apex.

Personaly I don't like apex just because inteligent monkeys are still just monkeys (even more when their music is litteraly monkey shouts)

I've made two humans thus far with one Floran and one Apex. I'd like a mod that let's you randomly choose a race though like with clothes and stance.

chose novakid because i think they're pretty epic, but almost didn't cuz I don't like to pick "overrated" things usually

actually like their kind of steam-based technology and frontier type motif

(also, as a chemistry nerd, i wholeheartedly approve of their name generator :3)

I have 70 hours in the game and I never seen a novakid village I didn't even know that they have any structures. Where can I find them?!
