Hope this helps! Also, mind sending a picture of the boss and his attacks? I will be able to pick out the attack i'm talking about from it.
I like Chuckle fish and all, but these invulnerable bosses require WAY to much finese in order to beat them.
I recently found one who had sooooooo much defense that my protector's broadsword with full Perfect armor did only 29 damage while no empowered and 34 damage while empowered. Dropping that sheild was a pain since my friend who was knew to this kept destroying the guided missle thingy. I still really like the bosses though. Also, they are made easier with the triple jump tech.
So yeah, so far the tactic is either use the arena against them or their own attack against them to lower their shield. Though given how casual games are getting these days, where people don't even have to think about how to do anything anymore or figure things out, they might be better off adding a hint about finding a way to lower the shield.
Edit: Huh, they come without shields too. But the concept on this boss was the same thing, damage dealt to it was miniscule until i noticed the damage buff cloud that appears from defeating the robot once the two parts where combined. With the damage buff active the boss didn't have massive resistance.
I have experienced all of these bosses and liked them, they make you think, plus I'm pretty sure they are different every time. I think the devs should keep them. It's a bit fun figuring them out yourself, plus that moment when you finally figure out how the boss gets damaged is pretty satfisfying to say the least.
What gear do you have? you should be able to take 4-7 hits with Tier 6 armor, which should be alright if you heal with nanowraps...
This might be considering cheating by some, but I find it making use of a cool idea:
I ahve the XS Mech mod install, so after doing 4-5 bosses already, some are annoying, so I spawn in my mech to fight the bosses. Yes, I can take a very large beating with the Mech before it's destroyed, but it makes focusing on the boss WITHOUT constantly using supplies trying to watch him. Considering they can hit like a truck, makes it a bit more of a fight then a watch and wait.
