- I've made an asteroid base just fine and nothing happened to this day.
-There are some ghost monsters on the asteroid fields but they're low threat and easy to kill
-When you beam down, you should land on asteroid, if you jump off an asteroid you will remain in freefall until you land on another one, so grappling hooks and ropes are good here ( no you can't fall into the endless void and die )
-There are no airlocks, and yes if you do remove your EPP you'd die, if you want that to change there's a mod called something like 'Enviromental Control' or something like that, it allows you to warm up or cool down an area and make it breathable, only in certain areas,
-one last 'threat' are a 1 in 10000000000000000 chance of a random metroid hitting your buildings. There are some blocks that can stop metroids from breaking those certain blocks.
Your beam down spot will stay the same unless you change it so much that it is no longer valid. So don't remove all the rock below it, or fill in the area. To make things easier just place a flag down to save your beam in spot.
