How do I skip NPC chat?

I'm fairly new, but I've started a second character and don't want to wait through the dialouge of quest npc's. How do I skip or quickly cycle through their chatter?

I think it's either spamming E or rapidly clicking the chat bubble. Or perhaps pressing E while mousing over the bubble. If you want to skip cutscenes, there's a mod out there in the workshop that does that.
