Stuck on Getting Started quest.

For some the Getting started quest on my game isn't advancing past the "explore the orbited planet" phase. I've crafted a whole bunch of tables, and walked the entire planet twice but nothing is advancing

I read online that your supposed to start getting "Archaic messages" or something, but that part of the quest doesn't seem to trigger.

Looking for a solution that doesn't involve me restarting from the beginning, but I'll take what I can get.

Even though you haven't gotten the messages about an "archaic energy source", you have seen the ancient gateway somewhere on the surface, right? Also, what is the current wording of the quest dialogue, just wondering.

Explored entire surface, didn't find no gate and it still says "Explore the Planet's surface"

I got sick of it so I just used some commands and skipped the repair part, everything is working dandy. Just finished the mining mission and am on my way.

So if there was no gate, how did you get to the outpost?

Talked to the lady in the floaty chair and everything was good. I'm not above using cheats to get around bugs

Wow, okay. I guess your starting planet didn't spawn with a gate. Weird.

Yeah. I am using frackin universe which could have ♥♥♥♥♥♥ something in the world generation. Anyway, its all better now.

i think FU generally has a different starting quest than the vanilla version of the game? dont know for sure whats different, but that might have had something to do with it - not sure

Frackin Universe does change world gen, instead of finding the gateway in the world, its now at the end of a short introductory dungeon, finish the quests for the creature in the small research outpost, and you get a tricorder. Then, find the mine, somewhere on the planet, and inside the mine will be a doorway, this takes you to an instanced dungeon, finish this and you find the gateway.

^^for me after i power up the gate and go to the outpost it doesnt proceed and makes me "redo" everything i tried the /completequest gaterepair command and it didnt work

make sure you're in the ship before typing the command

ive tried this in like 3 or 4 worlds now to no avail but because my game is glitched to where my compass does not exist I have no aid in finding the tunnel to finish the quest for FU to repair the ship and ive done every part leading up to fixing the ancient gateway which is impossible in FU since they moved it somewhere else....thanks FU.....oh and I spent 3-4 hours trying to find the tunnel in the mines and I can garentee it doesn't exist
