Make a backup first.
Then try using the bak1/2/3 to replace the normal .player and .shipworld to see if any will restore your stuff.
I went to my old cords to find all my worlds had also been wiped but then I had the idea of finding which world file I built my city on and renaming it to the new world that was generated when I beamed down to check. I beam back down to the world to find that everything I built was still there. I also tested this and this method can work if used on any new planet you beam down to so finding the old cords is not necessary unless you want it in the same star system you had before.
I hope this helps anyone that also gets a failed universe.
