Colony ideas?
I'm planning on building a colony on a Tabula Rasa planet (FU, its like a barren planet but with the features of a lush) but I have no clue on how to get certain tenants in and most of all I don't even know what to do for it. I'm not aiming for anything simple because I've been building up resources from all kinds of ♥♥♥♥ too so I'm not running low on what I can do.

Anything you want. Go for a theme and keep said theme for a part of your colony; you can try to divide it in "Sectors" (for other themes) as well.

You won't be getting too many tips from me, seeing as my colonies all end up in a tower-like fashion, underground once.

Thanks for the help, man. I noticed a lot of colony photos look like towers. It must be a common thing?

I guess. I'd think it's more of an efficiency thing, apartments and stuff. You can see NPCs like apartment buildings; Apex and Floran structures, for instance.

I think almost every village has tiny ass apartments. lmao

It's interesting how much they can fit in there without making it look like a dump, too.

Except USCM prisons. Those are literally dumps

Personally I'm working on a "raputure" styled resort on a ocean worls (no other option unless its under the dirt...), which I kinda plan on making it into like I said... A big arse resort'esc place containing multiple race themes.

Add a waterslide. It sounds like a nice idea, too.

I'm asking for help on a colony. I'd love to play with you but I'm full of mods and ♥♥♥♥. Just post a thread and people will be willing to play with chu.

I am a fan of basic wood and glass blocks for above ground then move to silver or iron blocks for undergound. I am currently working on my ocean world colony. It has several several small to large buildings on two islands that are connected by bridge. Then one island has a underground base/ lab and adjoining apartment. I recently added a tram to the ocean floor where I have made another series of underwater buildings with apartments. I love working underwater. I made most of the buildings on stilts so you still have windows looking upon the pretty under water stuff growing on the ocean floor. Next I want make a large dome down there and see if I can grow small forest underwater.

There are several guides on steam that you can look at that can help you decide what item to place in buildings to get the tenants you want.

♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. it sounds amazing. I decided around now to set up an ocean planet colony, my plans is to have a small park area on a small ocean island (above the water) with a bridge leading to an artifical island with industrial shets. Under the park area will be some apartments and houses. I don't know what I'll do with the rest... Time will tell the story.

Thanks for the tips and help, everyone!

Building towers really is the most efficient way of getting apartments. Though i dont like that method since it doesnt look that good. I decided to build several houses next to each other (2 apartments per house) and to make it look less monotonous i build shops, storage buildings etc. between the houses.
