About rain-watering crops
I wanted to created a rain "trapper" so that the water could then travel through wooden paths to water my entire farm. Sadly this cannot happen.

I wish the game was coded so that it lets you to use your imagination not just for decorating a place, but also so that you can find your own way to solve your problems.

I'm not bashing the game, but this made me sad.

Do you have background blocks anywhere? Rain water only accumulates if there are background blocks behind it when it hits something.

So if i place background blocks i can guide rainwater to water my crops? Will it travel through the already watered crops like a "flood" ? What method are you using besides sprinklers ?

Its may work but the problem is that if it's to much water (like a flood) they can be washed away.

I've almost always used the watering can/straight rainfall rather than the sprinklers. In an earlier version I tried to build a rain-catching reservoir and then use wiring and hatches to drop the water on the crops, but I didn't get it fine-tuned enough not to flood the seeds. There are mods around here somewhere with stuff like tiny doors and liquid pumping. They could be useful.

I've seen pumps in the game but i always assumed they're decorative, since everything else seems to be (with but a few exceptions)

Nothing in game actually moves water up. The mod I'm referring to lets you wire a "source" (that acts like a drain) to a "faucet" that dumps the drained liquid. I'm pretty sure you can use wiring to control when it is active.
