How do I deploy my mech?

So I did the first mission having me navigate through zero gravity with a mech and it unlocked the station allowing me to customize one. I'm not sure how to actually deploy in one. I took the parts out of the machine and went to my ship, but I can't use it. There's no option to deploy in it. Apparently there's supposed to be a button on the sidebar that does that but I don't have that.

You build your mech at the mech station and deploy it from your ship.

You also keep the parts in the machine.

Ah ok. Didn't know that the parts had to stay in the customize machine. Thank you both.
