FU Laboratory ?
First and foremost, i want to say, i love frackin universe. The amount of content it adds is massive, and a lot of love and work went into it.

That said, i want to build a laboratory.
Now, i'm okay with construction that lasts a long time (setting up backround tiles 1 by 1 to make it look authentic or such ) but i cannot for the life of me decide where to build.
As i see it, these are what options i'd consider:

Eden / Tabula Rasa : No Threats. Beautifull landscape, chill music, and on an eden there might even be shops i could mine and use for myself.

Desert / Tundra : Minimal threats, but plenty of Ice for Oxygen and Hydrogen, or Sand for Silicon.

Ocean / Frigid ocean : Easily skip past a large part of what would be digging through the crust of the planet by diving down there, resulting in easy resource collection. An underwater base could be nice as well.

Scorched / Volcanic / Liquid Nitrogen Ocean : Rarer resources, epic landscape. Makes for some great construction potential, and if you build your base in a volcano you get extra points for style.

Penumbrite / aether worlds : High threat, High reward, a roof above your head serves a function on these worlds, without it you would be killed.

Sufficiently massive gas giant: Potential for gigantic bases spanning over multiple terrain fragments. Tons of Rare resources. High wind at all times would deliver power like crazy.
Atmospheric regulator could be used.

Mobile Ship Base: Self explanatory. Altough the best way to do anything in the game, it's quite boring and if i ever join a server without all mods i have there's a decent chance my progress is gone.

That said, there is one minor issue i've always had with construction. Mods like enviromental safety that allow you to protect yourself against heat, cold, rads and antigrav allow you to land on a plannet your EPP does not protect you from, dig yourself a cave, plop down a ES terminal and boom. You can now survive there. That gives you a really nice feel of immersion and makes you feel like you actually WANT to be inside and not leave.
However, as soon as you have means of protection, all of that is gone. Poof. No longer any immersion, you can now step out your door and experience x tons per cubic centimeter of pressure, 5 meters away from the gas giants core and feel nothing. This makes construction kind of pointless.

TL;DR : I'm very lazy and unmotivated, but yet i really really want to build a nice♥♥♥♥♥FU laboratory and can't decide where.

Leave your own suggestions if you feel like it.

How do I use the Regulators? The Warped Regulator specifically.

I usually build a warp-laboratory....

I build a colony on a lush planet and with the teleporters I usually:
* Build my energy lab on a radiation planet with Uranium stone (to extract for uranium, duh)
* An extraction lab on a crystaline planet (because you can never have enough Silicon)
* A farm on a Oceanic planet
etc etc etc
