"Conflict: Desert Storm requires DirectX8.1 to be installed" Please help

I recently bought conflict desert storm and I haven't been able to play it. Every time I try to it says I need directx 8.1 to be installed. So I look on google a direct x 8.1 install, but whenever I download one, nothing happens. same message. I have windows 8 (Don't know which version) and an AMD Radeon R9 200 series. Is there any way for me to actually play the game?

Ive got 8.1 and its fine, i had to download a thing which came up by promt when i tried to open the game and thats it :p

I just downloaded that direct ♥♥♥♥ and it still didnt work .....
