Hey guys, I liked this game, but I couldn´t play it, as my native resolution is 1920x1080 and the game only supports up to 1680x1050, and everything was a little blurry, but I took some time to try things and I managed to change the game´s resolution, so here´s how I got it done:


Start -> execute command -> regedit (the windows registry editor)
go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Eidos\CDO\Device Settings and edit key "ResolutionIndex" to fit your needs:

Set the hexdecimal value to the resolution you want:

11= 1680x1050
...
13=1920x1080
14= 1920x1200

Then launch the game and enjoy. note that the video options will show you 800x600 as resolution, but that is wrong. Check your monitor informations to make yourself sure.

The game is much more enjoyable now.

It would be good if this got fixed, as I´m sure many people want to play this with their screen´s native resolution.

The path for me was:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \SOFTWARE \Wow6432Node \Pivotal Games \Conflict Desert Storm \Device Settings


In the "ResolutionIndex" I needed to use hexadecimal 25 decimal 37 to get 1920x1080.


This is on Windows 7-64bit.

It's weird. I've went into the registry editor, but I can't actually find the game using either methods. It's kinda poop.

For 1920X1080p:
open 'regedit.exe' and then go to
'HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE'---'SOFTWARE'---'Wow6432Node'---'Pivotal Games'---'Conflict Dessert Storm'---'Device Settings' and then go to 'ResolutionIndex' and then type the Hexadecimal as '25' and the Decimal as '37'

I saw someone post that you should set the Hexadecimal as 13, although this will also give you 1920x1080p, it only sets the game to 16 bit colour whereas the 25 Hexadecimal value will set the game to 32 bit colour

Note: when starting up the game, if you click on 'Settings' followed by 'Ok', this will reset the Hexadecimal back to the defualt value of 16 instead of 25 so what you instead need to do is; either just simply click 'Ok' without 1st clicking 'Settings' or click 'Settings' and then when you are back out of the Settings Screen, click 'Cancel' and then start up the game again and click 'Ok'

I'm having some issues getting this to run.
I tried setting the resolution index to 11, which didn't work. I got bored and changed all the registry values to 11 and it did work. Unfortunately, this only gives me 16 bit colour.

I tried Banana's value of 25, (which I imagine would be 32 bit), and that didn't work. Even setting everything else to 25 didn't work.

im now trying to play Desert Storm 2, i tried using Hexadecimal '25' and Decimal '37' as this is what worked in the 1st game but this doesnt work in the 2nd game... ive tried so many different values but none seem to work, does anyone know what the values are for 1080p on Desert Storm 2?
