Conflict Desert Storm

Conflict Desert Storm

Possible fix for floating/no gravity (Working on Windows 10 GOG version of game)
ALRIGHT FOOLS, I SAID POSSIBLE CAUSE I USE THE GOG VERSION. SOMEBODY USE THIS ON A STEAM VERSION AND TELL ME IF IT WORKS. IF YOU GOTTA CHANGE SOME THINGS SO THE STEAM VERSION DOESNT THROW A FIT YOU LET ALL THE OTHERS KNOW.

Program: 3D-Analyze 2.34 Download: No links, search 3D Analyze 2.34 and look for a trusted download site. I used 3dfxzone(dot)it.

1) Download the program, it does not need to be installed. Unzip the file it comes in (Dont run it from inside the archive!)

!!! GOG Version May be different on Steam !!!
2) On the first screen you should see two large buttons on the left hand side with orange numbers next to them.
Click the "SELECT" button and choose the "DesertStorm.exe" from your installation folder.

IMPORTANT: Choose the game's .exe file, NOT the "Launch Conflict - Desert Storm" program that's also in the folder.
!!! GOG Version May be different on Steam !!!

3) On the left hand side of the application's window, below the two buttons and the logo, you should see two blank text boxes with "VendorID" and "DeviceID" next to them.

In the box to the left of VendorID, enter "4318" without the quotes.

In the box to the left of DeviceID, enter "592" without the quotes.

This may not be the only graphics card that works, probably not even the best, but this is one of the default cards I know works, you guys can experiment all you want, but so far I am just glad I got all this to work.

4) Now in the center of the application window near the top you will see a large group of checkboxes with the title "DirectX 8.1 and 9.0 Options".
Under the section "Hardware Limits (cap bits)", check the box that says emulate "HW TnL caps".

5) Click the "RUN" buttion on the left hand side of the application window. Your game should run, you might notice
some performance hits, but the floating bug will no longer be an issue and gravity should work as intended.

So what now? Now I'll try to find the beefiest card that this program can emulate that also works with the game. I will most likely add another post down below with my findings, but for now I am happy with the results. If anyone who found this has discovered an easier fix don't forget to send it in to GOG so the game might be officially supported on Windows 10.

Heck this probably works on number 2 as well if you *ahem* found a CD copy of that lying around the internet or your closet or something.

Hey I know this is an old post but just letting you know this fixed my issue of floating and getting stuck on edges.

As for 1080p as per the other guide (https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1624278967),
I had to use the nonstandard Hex 11 / Dec 17 instead of the 37 recommended.
Mouse issues are mostly fixed with turning off Smoothing in game.

It's still not a bad game - Now that i got it running, I think I played this years ago. :D
