Seeing as the bottle caps are the primary collectible, what's the purpose of all the coins dotted through the levels?

I distinctly remember that one of my friend found a screen in this game where you can see 3D models of the cups you collected. I couldn't find anywhere in the game where this was a thing. Was I just misremembering or is it a real function you can do somewhere in the game?...

-Might be intentional but on the screen at the end of a level the music seems to cut off after a few seconds? It's one of those games that as soon as I started moving around I knew I would like it. The simple controls are great and there is depth to them already in the few minutes that I played. Two small criticisms. 1 The music isn't my favorite. I feel like it's too chill in a way but that's just personal taste. The other is art.
