Lazy PC port is lazy?

Wow I am prety sorry I spend even sale price on this port. I recommend to everyone that if you purchase this game, buy it on console not PC. This is probably one of the laziest (if not the laziest) PC port I have ever played.

No see a PC is just a console with more powerful hardware. If it requires more than putting in the disc and hitting install/play and doesn`t look and play MUCH better than on the native system(s) guys like him don`t want anything to do with it.

First most I am a PC gamer, I don't even own a console but when I purchase a PC port I don't expect to have to go out and buy a XBOX PC controller or download mod addons to play a game that is suppoed to e ported to PC already. This includes having straight forward PC controls. If you know how to do it, anyone can take anytype of console game rip the contends and play it using a emulator on a PC. I purchase a made for PC port because I expect that ♥♥♥♥ to be done for me already.

you do realize that you can change the logos manually with a small mod, which is what PC gamers do, and you can remodel the controlls for pc. it's like your such a lazy ♥♥♥♥ to even put any effort to even trying a game out.

OP's point is correct. The port IS lazy as all hell. There isn't even native 1920x1080 res :l ... But saying you should buy it for console is just BS. lol. TGF DSFix <3

From Soft has very little experience with PC programming. You have to give them some slack.

Honestly though, you don't even have to buy a controller. The game is completely playable with KB+M (although a controller is optimal). I guarantee it will take you less than 5 minutes to download the DSfix and DSMfix, drag them into your DATA folder, and play the game.

From Software was very open about it being a fairly rough port to PC. Considering they're a very console-focused company who only did the port due to a petition from fans, this is a pretty damn good release.

Just install a few mods and it's a really damn good game.

from software develope console games, they do not make PC games, people complained on the forums that they wanted a port of it to PC, a partician was made, which got 100,000 people to sign it, when the port was made and from software said that it would be locked to 30fps and the controls for pc would be shoddy, also that it would be supported by games for windows live, people started making threats that they would torrent it, and they were going to boycot it simply because from software weren't going to make the changes they want, all we asked for was a pc port and we got it

I'm going to be perfectly honest, I couldn't give a ♥♥♥♥ if I had to run this game in an 800x600 window, I would still ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ love it, because it is that good of a game, the thing is it runs completely smooth on my £500 desktop that is coming up to 2 years old, so quit your ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ this games sucked on ps3 because of big frame rate issues that have been fixed here, if you have a problem with that don't ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ buy the game, no one wants to here this ♥♥♥♥, its a perfect example of an amazingly thought out game which really makes you plan every move and be worried to move on the next area, if you can't handle, just don't ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ play it, its called "prepare to die" for a reason.

I completly agree with the OP. The game is brillant and I'm very glad there's a pc version, but it's not the point.


Yes, most of the issues are fixed by using mods like DSFix, but no one should have to use mod to be able to play (without the game is near unplayable... bloom and SSAO effect mixed with 10 years old graphisms is just vomitory). On the same level, I can understand this kind of game is better played with ax Xbox controller, but here it's just not playable at all with a mouse/keyboard couple. It's not huge issues, the mods demonstrate this, only some adjustments...

As for the suckers which pretends a PC gamer mod his game without even the slightest idea of the how a mod works and why there is absolutly no comparison with, said, TES, just LOL !


That said, the game IS a wonder, but an awful port.

the pc port is a first time try for this company. they ever made anything for pc before and even wrote an article telling the users/fanbase that this is for all the fans that wants a pc port. Even though they don't know what they are doing.

Essentially what everyone is saying. Get DSfix (takes about 5 minutes top, just google it), and an Xbox controller, trust me, its 100% worth it. This is the single best video game I have played in the past 5 years.

I've only played it for about 4 hours, but I'm hooked on this game. It feels like a hybrid between an RPG and a survival/horror game, at least so far. The mouse fix definitely helps make the game playable using KB+M. All the times I've died I never felt like it was the controls that let me down.

the pc port is well done and trust me with out a controller will die (even more) and get pissed harder i was gonna get the pc port but i spent 15 bucks for the same thing on xbox lol

Ok, Dark Souls for PC is definitely a must have... the 40$ price tag blew my mind... glad it wasnt 60$ lol.

I highly recommend that if you've invested in this game,
put your rediculous distaste for the minor graphical issues aside, if you feel there are any...

If you are a PC Gamer and this bugs you... you wouldnt complain about it;
you would fix it by simply applying the patch...

JUST PLAY THE DAMN GAME...
the gameplay and story are well worth you 40$ or how ever much you payed during the sale...

if the game is to hard for you,
its not b/c of the technical issues that all games have like slightly odd collision or w/e,
it's b/c you expect the game to pretty much balance itself out for you.
