Just bought this and when I started dl'ing, steam says its 3.7 GB.

Yet the store page says it's 8 GB.

Which is right?

It's about 3.8GB on my computer. You only need 8GB of free space on your HDD during the time of installation.

It requires 8GB but won't take all of it right now. Meaning it needs at least 8GB free to perform correctly.

Not really, Skyrim is much bigger and looks so much better at only 5gb.
