DARK SOULS™: Prepare To Die Edition

So you found a Dragon Remnant!
So one day, your mucking about in the depths, and you see this odd gray thing sitting on the floor. You get closer and you get the option to touch it. You see the ghostly figure of a player on the other side.

Congradulations! You found my dragon mark! Do you know what it is? What could it mean?

Um, this is Dark Souls. If you're smart like I was and didn't know what it was for, you won't touch it. Of course, now I know better and understand what the dragon eye means.

Why am I posting this? Because my friends, on two occasions this week I've had players use my mark without understanding the implications of what they were doing. Then they hacked and acted like ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ when I stepped into their world and started wailing on them.

The Dragon Mark or Dragon Eye is how those of us in the Path of the Dragon invade others to engage in JOLLY CONSENTUAL PVP. You click on the mark, be ready to fight and don't start crying like a little ♥♥♥♥♥ when the phantom you invited into your world starts beating the living snot out of you. We might be white phantoms, but it doesn't mean we're FRIENDLY! LOL

"JOLLY CONSENTUAL PVP" This is key my friends. I met a dragonling and we engaged in such jolly co-operation for an hour at the township. I won some, he won some and we became jolly friends.

I am going to be out there dropping some Dragon Scale invites as well. I was very happy to learn of an honorable way to invade. I haven't invaded yet, but from the descriptions it sounds like the covenant for me.

I really love the forest hunter covanent, if only because you can play the game like normal and invade while doing so, and you are not locked down to a certain area (well technically you are) but you don't have to be there to invade, which is awesome!

Yup, winner gets a Dragon Scale, which is used to either upgrade a dragon weapon or deepen your commitment to the Dragon Cult itself.

I usually put down my dragon eye when I'm farming and I see the shadow of another player. I then know there is somebody around my level nearby and so I put the eye down and see if they bite. Works more often than not. I'd like to leave it in convenient places like near a bonfire or something, but often times my farming causes me to cross old fog gates which makes the mark disappear :(

But yah, Path of the Dragon is probably the least intrusive PvP centric covenant. We completely give up the element of suprise and home field advantage. Hell, we risk being pulled into a gank squad. Give us a fight from time to time, you may be pleasantly suprised. Just understand what your getting into, I don't want to be summoned by another PvE centric player only to piss them off when I engage in the PvP I'M expecting.
