Can Siegmeyer actually survive?

Hi,
I've done almost six playthoughs now. I attampted several times to bring the story of siegmeyer to an end, where he survives. In the wikis people talk about this ending.
I've done everything I read there. In Lost Izalith I killed the 3 of the 4 Mixer-like Monters and left one almost dead. Sigi and I jumped in, killed the last one quickly and before he could get badly poisoned I took a homeward bone out of there. Still I find him lying dead beside his daughter. What a shame. I really like this guy and want him to live. Any advice? Her last sentence "Father, dear father..." makes me totally depressive every time...

I know what you mean, I have only done it once, but it was bugged.

Mainly because he died in Isalith, yet for some reason when I go back to Dark Root him and his daughter were there, and i got the titanite slab.

So I do not know how that worked out, it was in my very first playthrough.

Since then, I cannot seem to save that glorious bastard.

He is definitely my favorite NPC in this game, such a beauty, and never gives up hope, always ready to dive head first into the biggest ♥♥♥♥ holes in Lordran.

from what I heard you need him to be with 75% health or higher for the happy ending when he jumps down to the swamp.

Thats why I kept the fight ultra-short and then took a homeward bone. He didn't take damage in the fight and can't be poisoned that hard...

Sigh... Whatever can be done...

I blieve the requirement is above 50% health, for the good ending. Just kill all but one of the Chaos Eaters prior to the whole thing, should be fairly easy.

No, he cannot survive. The ending in Ash Lake where you find him lying on the ground near his daughter is the furthest his storyline goes. The only way he lives is if you kill all the monsters yourself at Izalith before talking with him and he gives you a ring. All talk about him being alive at Ash Lake is false. Go search all of youtube and you cannot find any video of him being alive there. Its just like when people were talking about how strength increases swing speed or how there was a way you could save Sif instead of killing him.

Umm.....I am like 99% sure you CAN SAVE him....

I swear I talked to him and his daughter at Ash Lake.

You cannot kill ALL the monsters, to do the story line correct, he has to jump in and help you kill at least one.

What you have to do, I am just bad at it, is leave one monster, and then talk to him, get him to help you kill it, and then homeward bone out before he has a chance to get poisoned.

I've actually been having a problem with this. I found Siegmeyer in all his locations but I saved him from the Chaos Eaters before speaking to Onionbaby now neither of them will spawn in Ash Lake! :(

Yes - If you just kill them alone he gives you the stone speckled ring and thats the end. Maybe thats the good ending, because he is supposed to be a nice but quite incompetent fellow?

He seem fairly competant to make it to the locations that he did, even if he did require your help in some areas.

he can actually survive the final part ,but its very tricky to do. Thats how you do it: Drop into the pit and kill all but ONE of the octo-demons. Then head back up and speak to Siegmeyer. He will offer to help you out. He will jump down and start fighting the last demon while shouting an epic battle chant. Jump down and quickly help him kill it. Make sure Seigmeyer has MORE than 50% of his life remaining. After killing it. Speak with him and he will take a nap. You are done here. Carry on with the level or warp back to Firelink Shrine and speak with Seiglinde. Tell her you have seen her father again and she will thank you. Warp to Path of the Dragon Covenant Bonfire in Ash Lake. Head to the first bonfire in the area and you will find both Seigmeyer and Sieglinde alive and well. Speak to them and you will receive a Titanite Slab. You want this outcome as after its all said and done you can kill Seigmeyer for his ring. Be careful though as you will have to fight both of them at once. END QUEST LINE.

hmmm - I spoke with sieglinde after I met him in blighttown. After Izalith I could not tell her if I saw him or not. She just told me that she is looking for him and might have to kill him. Maybe thats why it didn't work out. I did everything else... Ok - next try on NG+ then

No, he cannot show up at Ash Lake alive. There is no method which will result in him surviving there.
