Dragon covenant
I do realise that the dragon covenant is dead, however what's the best place to leave the dragon eye sign?

I think Oolacile Township
Piszczel 24/set./2013 às 11:08
Oolacile is good for everything, everyone knows that. I meant other places.

Dragon cov isn't "dead" there's just not enough reason to choose it over the Red Sign Soapstone. You'll still be summoned pretty frequently, it's just of pointless compared to say Darkwraiths which give you an extra invasion item rather than a more limited version of an existing one.

Anywho it depends on your level range, but any standard PvP area where you're at the right level will work. So assuming 80-125 range

  • Undead Berg - Near the bonfire
  • Darkrooft Forest - Inside the covenant area -You will most likely be ganked-
  • Oolacile Township - Near the first bonfire, at the beginning
  • Kiln of the First Flame - At the entrance

With nearly 400h in the game, I just wanted to try something different. I've done my fair share of dickwraithing

other players cannot see your summon sign, the dragon eye, if there are other friendly or hostile phantoms present in their world!
this may limit your success when placing a dragon sign at the mentioned pvp hotspots. on the other hand it gives you the chance of having a fair duel and not having to face a 2vs1 gank situation.

Adding to the list:
  • Painted World
  • Duke's Archives - The bonfire before the boss

Are Painted World and Duke's active for sign-based PvP? I know I can consistently invade there, but I've never seen any dueling going on.

It's usually only fightclubs in Pained World, Duke's is not fairly active in the sign-based PvP

OP, know that you are not alone struggling to get summoned as a dragon! I'm trying to get to the 3rd level of the covenant for some time now... As for where to get some action? I can't tell you anything new.
What build did you chose?

I'm just doing a generic halbred run, I didn't have a specific build in mind when I started this char. I picked up a halberd and thought "might as well roll with that". Dragon Head looks cool, I just wish I had the dragon body stone

Yeah, the dragon form looks really cool! And I guarantee you'll like the torso stone!!
LAN 24/set./2013 às 20:24
I haven't played Dark Souls in so long but I use to roll with a max'd torso stone and silver knight/demon spear. It was such a nasty combo that kept everyone at the perfect distance for poking. I highly suggest having Lloyd's talismans on you though, lots of chuggers.

As for maxing the torso.. spend about 1 - 2 days at drakes grinding for scales. It's worth it in the long run unless you feel the need to earn your scales properly.

This is true of pretty much all the items you need to rank up in covenants, farming will almost always be faster than trying to get them via actual PvP depressingly.

I'm in Oolacie at the moment, and I can't get any pvp - no one's invading, I can't see summons... Is SL60 too low? It could also be a connection problem, but I was invaded fine in other areas
Kemar 25/set./2013 às 9:27
Yeah, you are low... With such a sl, you'll mostly get invaded by darkmoons... if you have sinned. With 20 sins, you'd do fine. I usually get to Oolacile at around sl 50 with plenty of sins and it's Darkmoon party.
If you want some darkwratih action, you should be at least around sl 75. If you want to have a chance of being summoned as a dragon, you can add some 10 or more levels.

Now you being a dragon, me being a dragon, we could sometimes meet and fight for scales... trouble is, my dragon is around 80 I think.
