For an S scaling weapon (Dragon Bone Fist +5) what would be the prime stat level for maximum damage?

Strength obviously... However the bonus you get for leveling up strength drops as you get higher stength. When you get 50 strength or so, you'll just get 1 more dmg point per level so, it would be a good idea to get some way to buff your weapon (magic weapon, sunlight blade, etc). Since fist weapons are pretty fast, buffs work very well on them.

Strength is the best stat for dragon bone fist. Strength and Dexterity start having diminishing returns after 40 and Intelligence and Faith start having diminishing returns after 50.

Thanks for the help, I knew the dragon bone fist used strength, I just didn't know how much is needed to get the maximum damage output

maximum dmg output is at 99 str xD softcap however is at 40 str and at 50 is the hardcap.
i cant recall if the dragonbone fist can be enchanted but i would suggest u take the claws from andre of astora(?) cause they add bleed and can be enchanted AND u can roll like vega!!! (from street fighter)

As someone with a boxer character, I've always preferred by far the +15 caestus to the +5 dragon bone fist.
