Moonlight will block and swing. The swing won't even followup like how it does in right hand. It's a lot slower in left hand.
Note I wil only be using these weapons in right hand. Left hand is TCC and Bloodshield/crest shield
Can't make a suggestion from first hand experience using either, but can speak from the other side: Velka's tends to give me a lot more trouble
What about Moonlights special? I have seen that be used very effectively.
I won't be fast rolling if you guys need more info. I am using black iron les and gauntlets +5 and sunlight chest +10 which gives me a mid roll atm.
I have a medium roll, and the moonlight special is telgraphed enough that even with a medium roll it's usually easy to avoid, and I'll usually switch to the crest shield as soon as I see that weapon anyway. Crest shield makes damage from that attack minimal... a tiny bit of hp loss and some pushback.
Something about Velka's moveset, the timing seems just "off" in a good way, tend to get caught by it when I'm not expecting.
mlgs 2h r2 is fun to use and you can also do that at 11 str
From what I'm seeing:
Moonlight is great when the enemy cannot avoid. For exampl,e a thin walkway on sens fortress.
Velkas seems to be better for Open PvP
