Trouble With Connecting PS3 Controller to PC With MotioninJoy For Dark Souls
I start up DS3 tool, connect my PS3 controller via USB and load driver. It still doesn't detect my controller at all.

This is not the first time this has happened, although most of the time MotioninJoy worked just fine for when I wanted to play Dark Souls.

How do I fix this... For the life of me

i had some similar problems. what fixed it for me was setting MotionJoy to XBox360 controller, but still used a PS3 controller. Try and see if it works. I haven't had any troubles with it after that
Basically what Wrarri said. Use the Xbox 360 controller emulator in Motionjoy for most games.
Bear in mind, though, that Motionjoy is known to be somewhat suspicious, potential adware, and it's harder than it should be to remove from your computer.

There are other solutions for PS3 controller users that use the MotionJoy drivers, but not the potentially malicious software.

Just a heads up! Personally, I don't think MotionJoy has caused any notable harm on my computer, and I still use it.

I would majorly suggest, overall, get a Xbox 360 controller, for pc and get an xbox adaptor mjiggy, and it is a great long term investment.
The downside to doing so is that DS3 controllers are just... better. :P (For action games at least)
Analogue sticks and the D-pad can have the direction changed faster, and the buttons can all be tapped quicker due to less button resistance in a DS3 controller. 360 controller may fit better in most players hands, but IMO, the DS3 is just superior when playing.

I have a simple method to make your controller work, if you're interested, read below, including the warnings.

I use Windows 7 64 bits and the following has worked for me. Use it at your own risk, I had no troubles with it but some people I think they had.
Also, don't forget to remove everything related to MotionInJoy before attempting this.

  • So, first download this[www.techspot.com] and install.

  • Then go here[forums.pcsx2.net], check the requirements and Download the latest version[forums.pcsx2.net].
You can either follow the rest of the instructions there, or follow the rest of my instructions here.

  • Now, open your C:// and create a folder there called "Scarlet.Crush Productions" (without the quotation marks), and paste inside the "bin" and "Source" folders, which can be found in the 2º download you made.

  • You're almost there, now open the "bin" folder and run ScpDriver.exe, a small window will pop up. If you desire to use your DualShock wireless, leave everything as it shows up "[V] Configure Service"; "[V] Bluetooth Driver"; "[X] Force Install".
If not, just don't install Bluetooth Driver, and you're ready to go, press Install.

  • Wait a couple of seconds (it shouldn't take longer than that), and a message will appear when the installation is finished. It is done!

Now you can simply plug in/plug out your controller whenever you want to use it, without the need of having to open MotionInJoy and stuff, pretty much like if you were playing PlayStation with it.

Warning: I warn you again, I had no problems with this method, I've used it for a long time, explained it to friends of mine and they had no problems either. Still, use it at your own risk, I won't be responsible for what it can do to your computer or components.

    Have fun! ;)

PS3, and yes the PS3 controller is superior in every way. Every button is pressure sensitive, most accurate d-pad in the world, and all the buttons are perfectly spaced.

So did anyone get this working? I can't D: I plug in my PS3 Controller but Windows won't detect it, I did everything Jovel said but MotionInJoy can't detect a Controller to install the Drivers. http://puu.sh/5urTC.png <-- as you can see, there is nothing. (I set Profile to Xbox 360)

Open ScpDriver.exe and uninstall everything, then install again. Do this with your controller connected to the computer. It works for me everytime, let me know if it did for you aswell. Cheers! :happymeat:

This works great. The controller is connected to the pc unlike b4 i installed this. But then i ran into a problem. It wont actually wont have any inputting the games i try to play. I tried to start DS2 but it would not input any of my button presses. Any solution? Also my computer did just "Encounter a problem" and forcefully ♥♥♥♥ itself down. Is that related to the program i just downloaded?

Hi!

That's odd, I don't have any insight about that particular problem... Try deleting/uninstall everything, restarting your computer, and doing the whole process again. Did it work in any game at all at least? Also, what's your OS?

Cheers!

Hey guys, I did everything Joval said on a fresh copy of Windows7 and it works great when the controller is plugged in, but I cant use it wirelessly. I also opened up the SCP Monitor and I can see that I have a valid host (MAC) address and a MAC address for Pad1 but after unplugging the controller it never switches from reserved. I just bought 4 DS3 controllers and I'd really like to use them without the wires. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
