all the Halberds are like that. My personal favourite is the Liucerne because the running R1 comes out incredibly fast. If you tap dodge to backstep then your R1 attack will be the running type instead of standard. Very useful as a counter in PVP when someone is playing overly aggressive.
For those who believe that the Great Scythe is not as great as some others say it is, what would be a more recommended dex weapon and for what reason?
-Washing Pole because it's all the best parts of an Uchigatana with like DOUBLE the blade length (it's one handed strong attack is a thrust that out-distances most spears)
-Scimitar / Falchion because with two hands they have a killer left to right sweep that can chain indefinitely and have a 180 degree hit box.
-Shotel same as the Scimitar / Falchion except that when two-handed it ignores shields completely.
-Silver Knight Spear because it's pretty much the Sniper Rifle of Dark Souls. I can't tell you how many times I've caught people in PVP as they were ROLLING AWAY from me using the SKS. It reached the full length of the roll and poked them on the stand up.
-Rapier / Estoc / Velka's Rapier / Ricard's Rapier because paired with weapon buffs you can get alot of damage from rapid pokes in a very short amount of time.
And a note to Gaijin's post: the Washing Pole, although a good weapon, is not a dexterity weapon, but a quality weapon (scales with both STR and DEX). Combined with it's high STR reqs for wielding (20 iirc), I would not recommend it for a dex build.
shotel ignores shield ONLY when u use R2 attack and it doesnt matter if u 1 or 2h it, and u cant buff velkas rapier.
