Have a good day!
I have tried the great scythe as well...and there's really no comparison. MY GS was +14, and it would hit the crabmen slightly more than 100! It also has no variation to its attack in R1(correct me if I'm wrong). Also their weights are not even close. GS is 5 vs 14. For some reason the lightness doesn't make it swing faster. It has to pile drive downward with every swing which is why its so slow. The BKH does 3 different swings in R1. Because it has bleed damage, it might be better in some select situations, but BKH still crushes everything in most variety of situations. The ONLY spot I've found I prefer another weapon is vs the midget humanity skeletons outside of nito. I prefer the drakesword there.
DMG 645
DGA 659
GC 648
The GC is probably my favorite str weapon and unlike the BKH you can add even more damage via enchants plus you dont spend extra stats on Dex.
And the Meta list of course.
Never played dark souls before, i'm ravaging ng+ with the BKH.. misterious scaling makes it hit harder than Great Lord Greatsword, that should be better in scaling and base damage.
Even if i agree with the "best weapon is what fit best for you", BKH simply deals too much damage considering it's stats.
