Black Knight's Halberd

Is it only obtainable through new games plus or is dropped at random? (Mainly talking about the Knight near Darkroot Basin.)

Only two Black Knights can drop it. The one in Darkroot Basin, down the pathway, and the one at the End of the Game. Only the one at the end of the game will respawn. You can make a backup of your save and if it doesn't drop, you can replace the save and keep doing this over and over until you obtian the weapon, or you can just wait and farm it at the end of the game.

Not all Black Knights will drop it. Only the ones who wield it will.

There are 3 halberd knights, 1 is in the basin as Rarity stated, 2 is in Tomb of the Gaints (hate that place), 3 is in the Kiln of the First Flame (that's the respawner). Have fun finding it, I use it on my I'm bored and wanna kill stuff in one hit guy XD.

Damn, good thinking of farming stuff from non respawnable enemies

I recently got this weapon from the black knight at the catacombs / tomb of giants on my first DS playthru, the drops are kinda random it seems

It is a very fine weapon. Its design, characteristics and power. When trying to get her, don't forget to have 10 active humanities. The gold serpant ring would greatly help too, but I suppose you won't be having it for the black knight in Darkroot Bassin.

Hey, Eastwood, try this. Save just before the encounter with the knight. Now here's where the thing gets unique. Go into you're My Doucments/NBGI/Dark Souls/"Your Steam name"/ folder, there should be the save for your game there. Create a Backup folder inside that folder, then copy the save into it. Load up Dark Souls, kill the knight, if it doesn't drop just Alt-F4, copy the backup overtop the old save, and try again. Some people find this method bad but if you primarily play offline then what's the fuss? Besides, getting into the habbit of backup your saves is great for when you get invaded by stat/humanity stealing hacker douche dongles.

He's talking about backing up his save in order to farm .Some good reading you did there.
