Thorns Armor Viable for Canceling Backstabs?
I have been trying to roll back w/ Kirk's armor when I feel like I am on the verge of being backstabbed. I have only had very minor success with this, and I'm wondering if anyone else uses this effectively to negate the massive amount of players that solely bait the backstab. It's starting to drive me crazy.

I usually sniff out the intentions of a backstabber right away, but prevention doesn't always work. I see them in front of me, then a fraction of a second later they are in mid backstab just after I attempt a thorns roll. I'm really curious if any veterans can give me insight on Kirk's set and if it's worth wearing a piece, or if it's more viable to use certain weapons for backstab cancellation.

I played around with it, and noticed something that I was too impatient to test thoroughly: even just having the helm on (liked the way it looked) seemed to break guard rolling *into* a turtler. While doing an earth-shattering 2 damage. Could have been a couple strange coincidences tho. Never tried the anti-backstab thing.

The Armor of Thorns is really fun to use (especially agains casters or peeps with no poise), the mini stun-lock is does drives some players mad.
Regarding backstabs, this is what I always do: if you're getting up from the ground, roll torwards your opponent, never away from him, or you'll be giving him his back (this is especially useful with the Thorns, where you suntlock them for 1/2 a sec. If you're sure that he's going to try a backstab, you can get up facing him and immediately parry, but ALWAYS face them.
During the fight if you see he's fishing and trying to get on your back, just go back, he'll never be able to backstab you, then you can try counter-BS him, there are some youtube videos, as it's hard for me to explain in words. Here are some other vids:
