Viable Greatsword of Artorias Build ?

Hi there guys.

I wonder if there is a viable build centered around the Greatsword of Artorias (GOA).
By "viable" I mean a reasonable chance to win a PVP match (SL 120-125).

It is a shame that the sword looks so cool, but you need to put so much points into INT and FAITH.

I was thinking about playing as a Paladin, using some miracles like Wrath of the Gods, a paladin set armor and the GOA.

Advices ?

Enough Str/Dex to wield it (1h vs 2h, your choice)
30/30 int/fai, or 20/40 // 40/20, whichever you want to optimize.
Dump rest into Vit, 40end is obvious.

I think that should leave you with something viable. No idea, I didn't even do the math

yea pretty much that lol, decide if you would like to focus more with magic or miracles and throw stats in accordingly. might want to take a look into the abyss greatsword while you level up, I found the abyss greatsword was dealing more general damage than the greatsword of artorias until I got all of my main stats roughly around 30ish

I tried to like them, but the heaviness of them makes them not viable for DWG builds. The DWG is super awesome in PvP and I feel naked without it. Great Scythe is flexible when side-arming a Balder's side sword for those shield spammers.

Nothing says "Get outta my way!" like rapier spam. Eats Stability for breakfast!

And against poiseless builds, the scythe is a beast.

How do you even make that thing? I've been keeping ahold of sif's soul for ages just for this purpose!

Broken straight sword or straight sword hilt for standard, any other straight/great swords for cursed. Unsure if ultras can be turned to cursed.

There are 2 types of Greatsword of Artorias. Both of them must be be crafted using the Soul of Sif. Both of them are required for the achievement. Using a Straight Sword Hilt or Broken Straight Sword grants you the Divine version of the Sword of Astorias. AkA the original. Using a normal weapon like a longsword, Dagger, etc grants you the "Cursed" version. They are both special and fit for different builds. It depends on your build.

Im just figuring it out as well... you have to upgrade the appropriate type of base weapon to +10... and then go to the right blacksmith, and then the special weapon will appear in the Modify weapon menu. It seems most of them require pretty much any type of base weapon upgraded to +10. Check the wiki if you want specifics, it has everythign you need to know.

Yes, that is the plan.

I found a video of a guy using a "GoA build" in PVP: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dGEJFPnwM1Y. Seems good enough. He is still using the Darkwood Grain Ring, but anyway... my main concern here is the Damage output of the Greatsword.

Well, it seems that the Greatsword of Artorias is optmized for multiple playthroughs, when you have near to maximum in all stats and is playing in NG++++ or something.
