Is Divine worth it?

Divine weapons cost alot in levelling faith but is it really worth it considering standard does more damage in most cases and standard weapons can be buffed well over powering a divine weapon?

Divine is worth it on a build that has the requisite FTH anyway. The 10% extra damage on undead comes in handy in Tomb I`ll tell you that much. Same for Occult against "divine" opponents. Although your best bet for divine types is Grant... which is a twitanite upgraded weapon with a divine modifier.

If you won`t have the FTH for other reasons, stick with regular or elemental.

I made myself a divine weapon+5 just for the catacombs, but otherwise it isn't really worth it, at least in my opinion.

Other than catacombs, no divine weapons are not worth it since your standard weapon will do more damage even if it has less attack rating than a divine weapon, because the damage is split between physical and magical, and it has to go through both the enemys defences. It took me a long time to realise this, as my first character was a pure faith build with just minimum str/dex to wield a weapon and 50 faith and I thought I was playing right. Now I have 30 faith and 40 dex and a Balder Side Sword or Uchigatana +15 will do plenty more damage than the equal Divine +10 version.

And of course with a normal weapon, you can buff it with magic weapon, darkmoon blade, fire resin etc. for maximum output.

Damage-wise it isn't really worth it. But summoned skeletons will remain dead if you kill them with a Divine-ascended weapon, and that makes it useful in the Catacombs.

Not any more than enchanted/magic weapons do with an int build. Damage will scale with Faith and that's about it.

I mean the Auxiliary Effects not the Parameter Bonus.

The only divine weapons that are really worth using are the Silver Knight Spear/Sword. Everything else depends on loads of faith.
