Zweihander or Man-Serpent Sword on 40 str, str/end build, pve

Which of the two is better in all available upgrades? What upgrades to pick? Or may be you can suggest something else? I would like hand weapon with 1 hand.

although, I like the look of Zwei, MSGS scales better. Some say MSGS also got better moveset. But Zwei is lighter and is accessible early in the game

Depends on which ever move set you like more, really. Zweihander ultimately have higher base damage once you upgrade it to normal +15 than Man-serpent,but it swings quite slow compare to the latter.

Here are a few other suggestions:

Stone great sword, with its special 2 hand attack becoming tranquil walk of peace cast, which slows fast enemies down for you to smack their face in. Decent damage, but spread across physical + magical.

Then what upgrade to do on Zwei? Lightning or Normal?

If you like greatswords then I find the Greatsword of Artorias (cursed) to be pretty damn awesome. Havn't checked out the Abyss Greatsword, don't know if it's better or not...
